Making an impression in North America

Coventry-based Impression Technologies is to promote its unique technology to automotive leaders in North America.

Adrian Tautscher, the company's principal technical specialist, will present on Hot Form Quench at the GALM Conference in Detroit on 22 February. HFQ is a production method for stamping complex-shaped aluminium components from high-strength and ultra-high-strength alloys. The process uses high-strength grades to enable gauge reduction and deletion of strength driven reinforcements.

Adrian will be explaining the innovative technology, and outlining scaling plans to achieve higher production volumes. HFQ techonogy has attracted wide interest among automotive body manufacturers, and components made using HFQ can already be found in vehicles such as the Aston Martin DB11 and the Lotus Evora.
