The Aluminium Federation will be holding its Annual Dinner, the highlight of our annual calendar, at Merchant Taylors Hall, Threadneedle Street, London EC2 on the evening of Wednesday, 10 November 2010.
We are delighted to announce that our Principal Guest and Speaker this year will be the ‘Ambassador for Business', Digby, Lord Jones of Birmingham, Kt.
Digby Jones is a name synonymous with British business. He is acutely passionate about it having served as Director General at the CBI (2000 -2006). In July 2007 (until October 2008) he was appointed Minister of State for UK Trade & Investment and became a life peer. Forthright and, as ever, loyal to British business he spent the next 15 months "doing it in a different way". He did not join the party of government and without the ambition to progress in politics he concentrated on the business of promoting Britain across the world, travelling to 31 countries in 45 overseas visits.
Today, in addition to his role as an active cross-bencher in the House of Lords, he serves as Chairman of the International Business Advisory Board at HSBC, Chairman of Triumph Motorcycles Limited, and is Corporate Ambassador for Jaguar Cars and JCB.
The ALFED Dinner is a wonderful opportunity to entertain your guests, whether they be colleagues and partners, customers or suppliers, in elegant surroundings in the City of London, and to enjoy fine wines and superb cuisine in the company of many distinguished guests, including Parliamentarians, senior civil servants, academics, members of NGOs and the media.
The ticket prices for the Dinner, which is a Black Tie event, are - a table for 10 people £990 +VAT: a party of 5 is £530 +VAT and an individual ticket is £115 +VAT. ALFED Member Companies may bring with them any number of guests from a company or organisation. Members are also welcome to include partners in their group.
